COPE Coalition Youtube page

Our Coalition is made up of representatives of 12 sectors within the community that meet on a monthly basis. The 12 sectors are:
  1. Youth (meaning young people themselves, not an adult representing youth).
  2. Parents.
  3. Business Community.
  4. Media.
  5. Schools.
  6. Youth-serving organizations.
  7. Law enforcement agencies.
  8. Religious or fraternal organizations.
  9. Civic and volunteer groups.
  10. Healthcare professionals.
  11. State, local, and/or tribal government agencies with expertise in the field of substance abuse (including, if applicable, the state agency with primary authority for addressing substance abuse).
  12. Other organizations involved in reducing substance abuse.

Outreach ~ Engages the community to change norms related to youth substance abuse
Prevention ~ Focuses on reducing risk factors and promoting protective factors  
Education ~ Promotes awareness related to youth substance abuse

 
VISION:

To establish a healthy community that supports youth and families.

 MISSION:

To develop a coalition of residents, businesses and community institutions to create an environment free of drugs for youth.

 

 

 

 

COPE Coalition is funded by state and federal grants. Each grant has its respective boundaries in West Phoenix, and the combined boundaries of the grants define the boundaries of COPE Coalition. The zip codes which define these boundaries are: 85017, 85019, 85031, 85033, 85035. The West Boundary is 83rd Ave. The East Boundary is I-17. The Southern Boundary is I-10. The Northern Boundary is Camelback and partially Glendale Ave. The Southern Boundary is I-10 and partially Thomas Rd.

JOIN OUR COALITION!

If you live or work in our coalition boundaries and if you would like to help reduce youth substance abuse in your neighborhood we would like to invite you to our next COPE Coalition meeting. We meet monthly, typically at the John F. Long Family Services Center at 3454 N. 51st Avenue, the last Tuesday of the month from 4pm to 530pm.

You may also contact us and we can offer other opportunities to be involved in the community and place you on our email list.
